Writing has never been my favourite method of communication. Being dyslexic I always preferred just talking things through.
However after the world locked down and I need to show up on social media a hell of a lot more, I need a different way of doing things. And decided I need to post, blog, and share much more regularly. This meant writing a lot more.
Now I have always been good at designing training programs, having done that for over 6 years now but I have always had the ability to alter “in the room” to match the level of the people undertaking the learning.
I realised really fast that this wasn’t possible for online courses that are prerecorded, which meant that I needed a much more structured flow of content. So as I was designing the Blueprint to Business Success program I decided to write out the process of learning step by step.
And the more I wrote, the more I could see the gaps in the learning. I could see where it jumped too far in one go. Or didn’t cover an element that was important. This “document” gave my brain so much structure and helped me increase the value I was adding to the program.
By adding a front page, an index, and the “how we can help you” page – It became a lovely 13-page ebook that anyone can download to get the overall basics of what information we cover on the course.
This then worked in two great way:
- It gave me structure and clarity to build a product that adds insane value and works in a logical order
- But more importantly, I can be used to market the program and reach a new demographic of customers. Giving them a large amount of value in exchange for an email address.
This then becomes the group of people I offer my exclusive webinars out to when I want to open the next cohort of the online program. But also gives those business owners that downloaded it a really valuable read with actions they can take immediately.
In business, we want to work smarter not harder. So always think about the work you are doing and if it can be used in multiple ways to add value. The more ways it can be used, the more return on investment you will make.
So think about what E-book can you create today, how can this translate into your business? And then let me know in the comments what you are going to create for your audience.
