Honestly, it is crazy that one day is seen as enough to appreciate half of the world’s population!
And it blows my mind, that today, the day after women’s day – which is seen as the day women can kick back and relax – is World Panic Day. Isn’t that fitting!
Now, I am not saying that anyone else shouldn’t be celebrated, but this concept of one day a year seems crazy to me. What do you think?
When we look at the world today, so much has changed since 1910 when women fought to recognise this day. In 1911 Women’s Day became official, and for 80 years it was a women’s thing.
Then in 1991 – International Men’s Day was named. And this is were it gets murky for me.
Why do we need women’s or men’s day?
For me, I think instead of adding men’s day in, they should have taken women’s day away.
Imagine in place on this one day, instead, we could have equal rights, equal pay, equal job opportunities, equal family responsibilities, and the right to choose what happens to our bodies.
But a man decided it’s easy to rather keep the “balance” and just add men’s day in.
*on a side note – I have NOTHING against men. But definitely something against suppression.
What can we do?
As female business owners, I feel we have more power than ever before. To educate ourselves and step away from the masculine way of doing business.
- Away from hustle more
- Away from push harder
- And Away from showing up at any cost
Can we step further to creating businesses we love that work for us and not against us!
So from a point of education, I have 2 fabulous book recommendations to help you learn, grow and stand in your own power.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle
Untamed is a 2020 memoir by Glennon Doyle, which is also a NO.1 Sunday Times Bestseller! So if that hasn’t convinced you let me tell you a bit about it.
Untamed is the most liberating book I have read – emotionally, spiritually, and physically – it will blow your mind! The journey Glennon goes on to become the truest version of herself is remarkable and will give courage to any woman that is awakening in this world.
Do Less by Kate Northrup
A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women
This book shifted my perspective on hustle so much! This amazing lady shares a method and stories of her life that are really easy to connect with. This sums it up nicely – “As opposed to focusing on “fitting it all in,” time management, and leaning in, as so many books geared at ambitious women do, this book embraces the notion that through doing less women can have–and be–more.”
From where I’m standing
I want to offer you a different way of thinking. Every client I speak with starts their business by thinking:
- What should this business look like
- How will it make me money?
- How will I fit my life around it?
These questions lead us into the push mentality of business.
So instead, regardless of how long you have been in business ask yourself:
- What is my ideal life I want to live?
- Who would I adore to work with every day?
- How can I structure my business to fit my lifestyle?
If you are unsure and want some help to answer those questions, please grab a copy of my ebook – 7 Secrets to Business Success.
These questions will help you start to unlock a new approach to business.
The type of approach that allows for balance, rest, fun and earning big money.
The type of approach that makes you love the busines you have created, the freedom it gives you and not feel like you have another “job” but you pay yourself instead of a company.
This is about stepping out in the wonderful feminine energy that the world has frowned upon for so long. And that is not ok anymore.
Want more help?
I remember feeling like I had to push, I had to be on all the time, I had to show up and do all the things.
This mentally caused me to burnout just 2 years into the business. It caused me to lose my 6-figure business. At the time it felt like my world was ending.
I placed so much value on money and not enough value on me.
But I learned a new way. I forged a new path and in 10 months had hit a £12500 sales month after restarting my business online. All the while I was still only working 10 am – 5 pm, 4 days a week. I crave time to exercise, nap, read, bake, bath or craft when I want to. I have good boundaries with my clients.
And none of this stopped me from being successful.
You can have all of this too. And to kickstart that journey, I have exactly what you need.
